On the royal procession day, all the subjects attending the king waited in groups in front of the palace. When the escort guards and other attendants awere ready to start the procession, a senior officer held up the royal seal and greeted the king.
When the king got on a royal cart to move to Yeon (the king's carriage), the attendants carrying the royal parasol and fans followed. As the king went into the carriage, the attendants rode their horses to start the procession. The royal guards, members of Hyeonmudae, followed in the rear of the procession.
